The potato is a staple of the weekly shopping basket of Irish consumers. Containing a variety of vitamins and minerals potatoes can be boiled, steamed, mashed, fried or baked. Along with growing our own potatoes, K&K Produce has dedicated growers throughout the country. We also import a variety of Cyprian, French and Italian potatoes to provide consumers with a quality, flavourful potato.

Mediterranean Potatoes

Here at K&K Produce we source our New Season Mediterranean Potatoes from Cyrus & Italy.

The distinctive red clay soil of Cyprus is perfect for growing potatoes, and is even grown from the island’s interior to its coast to extend the season of this versatile, thin-skinned potato. Hundreds of small Cypriot growers contribute to the crop, which is popular in Ireland for its fine, earthy flavour. Cyprus potatoes are ideal for both boiling and baking, and they also make very good chips.

Our Italian potatoes are grown in good sandy soil. Italian potatoes, are characterised by their creamy texture and loose fluffy skins.
